our freedom fighters

At the beginning of every school year, the Hawai'i Innocence Project welcomes a new wave of freedom fighters from the William S. Richardson School of Law. Our students come from all around the world and from many different walks of life but they all share a passion for serving others and ensuring justice. Meet a few of our former students below!

By supporting an individual student, you will help give them to the opportunity to attend the annual Innocence Network Conference or support their work on the case to which they are assigned.

"I joined Hawai'i Innocence Project because I wanted the opportunity to make a positive impact in someone's life. Fighting for justice is the reason I decided to attend law school and HIP was the perfect place to start."

"I joined the Hawai'i Innocence Project because when innocent people are convicted of crimes they did not commit, then the miscarriage of justice is twofold.  The wrong person is punished while the perpetrator is free to continue hurting others."

"Being a part of HIP provides me with a rewarding experience like no other, and reaffirms my commitment to those most vulnerable within our criminal justice system."

"As a student in HIP I'm able to do more than just acknowledge the cracks within our criminal justice system, I can address those issues to bring justice to the innocent."
